A Giants Cup

Thump! “Where is my tea cup?”

Once lived a giant woman who lived up in the clouds. She had once had a tea cup the was tremendously big. It was very special to her she used that cup everyday. She will look after it like she was taking care of a baby. One night she went on a long walk to find the fluffiest cloud she could see. She walked over to the cloud with her tea cup. She put her tea cup down.. Thump, the tea cup had fallen, she had never seen that tea cup again.

Reflection:

I really like this challenge this was fun to do, it was hard to keep it to 100 words because you can't have more or less than 100. I think next time we do this challenge I will add more adjectives, synonyms and more.

I am interested in animals, documents, science and more, I enjoy drawing, coloring, singing, cooking, swimming, painting and much more! At school I learn best with a group of friends. I also like to learn independently, I like to sit next to a group of friends when I work. My goals for 2018 would be achieving division and multiplication. Here are some facts about me!

Last year at my primary school I was a leader for Pasifika.

I really like Cats, I have a cat called Jingle.

I have three sisters and one brother.

I have heaps of family here at Hornby High School.

I Might Have..

Nuclear Submarine, The bottom of the pacific ocean, A Talking Whale Or Bear.

On the first Monday of the school holidays, very early in the morning, I might have seen a shiny, black nuclear submarine at the end of the hallway. I might have walked down the hallway and went inside. I pulled on the submarines joy stick and took off! While I was in the submarine I might have seen a cat playing with a long piece of string that was as long as my leg. I sat down with the cat and played with her.

7 hours later.. I might have arrived at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. I might have swum around and saw a cave covered in long green seaweed. I might have got a  rock and tried to throw but it just sank to the bottom. I might have swum over to the grey rocky cave covered with seaweed

After that I might have seen a brown, fluffy bear in a cave. I might have  swum swiftly to the bear. I might have heard the bear say ¨touch my fluffy head to transport you back into your bed¨.  I might have touched his fluffy head and I was back in my soft bed.

But.. what actually happened on the first Monday of the school holidays I got out of bed and had a yummy cup of milk.

During Term 3, Kahikatea,Pohutukawa and Matai all participated in the Art Exhibition. All classes made art based on a theme of sustainability.

*Sculptures*

Our sculptures were about sustainability and unsustainability, some sculpturess are about clear blue lakes,people riding bikes,clean beaches etc. Some were about polluted rivers,rubbish beaches etc.

* Mural *

Next we decorated our sustainable area! We used tables to set the art on. We also used our sustainability writing for people to see what we have learnt over the past 8 weeks.

* Storyboard *

Next we had to plan a short movie, so we decided we to make a storyboard. We all got a piece of paper and split it into six pieces, in each box we put

what we wanted to happen and in the other box was what we drew.

* What Pohutukawa And Matai made.*

Pohutukawa made shiny CD fish they shined as bright as diamonds. They also made colorful clay pots, they had many different colors. Matai made beautiful colorful spiral bottle art. They also made brown and orange rusted art.

* Conclusion *

In conclusion I think Kahikatea could've made the area more brighter like Matai´s.

1850 vs 2017 FASHION

On Wednesday the 10th of May 2017 Kahikatea travelled to Ferrymead to learn about the 1850s and see what is different to 2017.

1850s Fashion!

In the 1850s dresses were made out of many materials like cotton,lace and velvet. Girls had to wear dresses they had no choice. The 1850 dresses were very inflexible to put on so the women had to have someone around to help them get dressed.Mens clothes were very different to women's clothes they had to wear suits , with hats that looked like berets.Women and men's clothes are very different to now :)

2017 Fashion!

2017 fashion is very different to now the women’s dresses are very crazy it’s not like a plain white dress with black polka dots.2017 has changed the fashion to big black dress with a very gigantic bow , that’s how crazy I mean 2017 has changed 1850s fashion.2017 fashion is not plain insane.2017

has LOTS I mean LOTS of materials like denim,cotton,flannel,madras.

Conclusion..

Therefore Ferrymead is a great place for kids to learn about the 1850s or known as the olden days, Ferrymead is definitely a great place to go to during the weekends! I definitely want to go back one more time.

How To Make Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients -

1) ½ a cup of unsalted butter (1 Stick)

2)¾ packed dark brown sugar

3)Eggs (2)

4)Vanilla Extract (2 teaspoons)

5)All Purpose Flour (3 cups)

6)Baking Soda (1 Teaspoon)

7)Hot water (2 teaspoons)

8)Salt (½ teaspoons)

9)Semi - sweet chocolate chips (2 cups)

10) Chopped walnuts (1 cup) (Optional)

11)Sugar (1 cup)

Equipment -

1)Electric beater

2)Wooden spoon

3)Measuring cups

4)Sifter

5)Spoons

6)Bowls (2)

Method -

Step 1 - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)

Step 2- Cream together white sugar,butter and brown sugar until smooth.

Step 3 - Beat in  the eggs one at a time.

Step 4 - Then stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 5 - Dissolve baking soda in hot water.

Step 6 - Add to batter along with salt.

Step 7 - Stir in flour , chocolate chips and nuts.

Step 8 - Then drop large spoonfuls onto pan.

Step 9 - Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven , or until edges nicely browned! :)

My Memoir In Kahikatea

Term 1

In term 1 it was my first day in Kahikatea,the class was so big it was like a whole another world to me,I was shy at first but then I go the hang of it.My teachers name was Mrs Boswell,Mr Barrow.

Term 2

In term 2 Mr Barrow became the “Acting Principal”,so we had a new teacher to fill in for Mr Barrow.Her name is Annabel McCormick but we call her Miss McCormick and I joined the ukulele class

Term 3

In term 3 Kahikatea and the other classes went to the “Canterbury Museum”.We learnt about the past and touched some things maori people used in the past to survive.

Term 4

It’s now term 4 blue has had a big lose against gold it was a real shocker because blue will normally win.Term 4 has been a really fun term I like term 4 the most because there is “Kids in town” and much more fun stuff to do!

My First Night At The Museum

Wondering around in a magnificent museum seeing lots of interesting things.Now wait for thw moonlight to begin.

This night is the night where everything comes alive wait with me to look  for the full moon.There it is what do I see the moonlight I was in the egyptian area waiting for something to happen BOOM something was coming out of the coffin an egyptian god was out “Well hello” he said  “Hi” I said  “My name is Ahkmenrah” BANG there was a big stomp running so Ahkmenrah and I ran  as fast as  we  could to go find out who or what was doing it . We went down stairs and saw the locked gate was smashed opened then I hear the drinking fountain and it was getting louder and louder as I was walking towards.Ahkmenrah was scared  so I went first bravely is saw the dino and it saw me Ahkmenrah and I ran all the way to the front desk and the dino was roaring and stomping he was sniffing around really quietly but eventually  he found us so I  remembered one thing to always check the NIGHT LIST.So I grabbed it and the first thing I had to do is throw the bone the dino dropped the bone and started  puffing like a dog so I threw it and tryed to run away with Ahkmerah.We lost the dino but I forgot about the little rome people they will always runaway for no reason so I ran to rome and they alll ready sterted to run so I got a basket and made a trap  they all ran into the basket YAY me and Ahkmerah celebrated.After that we went to the cave people  and  on the way we found brat monkey “DUN DUN DUN”  so we ran because we didn’t like that monkey and there was the cave people pllaying with fire then they caught on fire so I ran and went to go get the fire extingusher and put them out then one of them said dada I am not your dad after that drama saying im not your hundreds of times I finnaly go out of it then we went to go walk through the amazing hall of birds the amazing  hall if birds the only thing wrong with it they werent alive  so……..TO BE CONTINUED
