[HUR1] Sustainability Project - Board Game

For the next part of my Sustainability Assignment we did a project that shows our personal skills and interests. I decided to have a partner with this project, we created a board game on the website Tinkercad on the topic Deforestation. My partner had more experience with Tinkercad so they decided to make the board game, they took inspiration from the widely known board games Monoply and The Game Of Life. While my partner was designing the board game, I was making the pick-up cards and rules. Once I finished the cards my partner the board game more "pretty" by adding trees, signs etc. We got this done in a few lessons, I enjoyed my time making this board game. Overall, I think that my partner and I did a great job and would do this again!

Essay Writing!

The numbers of our animals are reducing by the time everyday animals are becoming endangered
and even extinct. Most species all around the world are endangered to us ignoring their need for their habitat. Animals lose their habitat due to our waste, pollution, hunting etc.

Destruction of their habitat, Humans destroy their habitats with their waste, pollution and much more. One of the biggest problems is Deforestation, forests are the richest habitats on land are also the most threatened habitat over a third of the world’s birds rely on the forests as the forests get destroyed all the species face a tough fight for survival.

Species like: The great spotted Kiwi, Tuatara, Hector’s dolphin and New Zealand sea lion are all gradually declining in numbers. These animals are very important to this earth and our daily lives. Once they’re gone, they’re gone forever, there is no going back. Losing one animal can make a big impact on the ecosystem because the effect of losing an animal can affect the food chain. We rely on the animals too much.

Most of our resources are given to us by animals, for example, blankets, clothing, food and most importantly our Ecosystems. When an animal becomes endangered or extinct, It’s a warning that our ecosystem is slowly falling apart. Us humans depend on Healthy Ecosystems. Without healthy forests, rivers, oceans and other ecosystems, we will not have clean air, water, or land.

In Conclusion, Endangered Species is very important to Sustainability because it affects the Ecosystems, if it affects the ecosystem it affects our grasslands, oceans, air, water etc. We’re already doing enough damage to our ecosystem, so why ignore these animals and let them go extinct and ruin our ecosystem even more.
