Beats And Beyond

Beats And Beyond

Thursday 13 June 2019

➥Subject: Music | Beats And Beyond

Today, Mr Mitchell brought in different types of Guitars:

➥ Nylon String Guitar - A Guitar with Nylon Strings.

➥ Steel String Guitar - A Guitar with Steel Strings.

➥ Dread-naught Guitar - A Guitar with a big body.

➥ Backpackers Guitar - A Guitar with a small body.

➥ Electric Guitar

He played all the guitars and told us about how different they sound. He also told us about the different things we can use for a guitar.

➥ Capo - Hold down all 6 strings.

➥ Amp - Plus into the guitar and does the job of the sound hole.

He also included the other things, that are on a guitar and also other equipment guitars use.

➥ Sound Hole - A Sound Hole is a hole in a guitar where the sound comes from.

➥ Tuning Pegs - Used to put tension on the strings to tune them.

➥ Whammy Bar - A Bar on an electric guitar that quickly changes the string tension.

➥ Amp - Plugs into the guitar and does the job of the sound hole.

After Mr Mitchell's "performance" instead of calling this class 'Music' we used Taylor's idea and name this class 'Beats and Beyond.

We then had to make a title page for our books. We also got to draw to make it look "amazing" !

We then had to do our Glossary. There was different words including, Sound Hole, Capo, Amp etc.

We wrote down the different definitions for all of the words.
